Editorial: Investing in the future

Congratulations to the Community School of Naples.

The private education center off Livingston Road in North Naples has raised money and broken ground for a facilities expansion for its high school grades.

Thanks to an anonymous $5 million donor, CSN will have 17,000 square feet to grow its history, English, photography and art programs.

The wing will be situated over a former athletics practice field and be completed by August, in time for the next school year.

Any time a private school reaches into its own pockets to improve and expand services, that calls for applause.

It's all about options, and when it comes to education, all of them belong on the table. They're prime investments.

The elite empowering more elitism. (The current $20,000 per year tuition--one would think it is enough to budget in an expansion). That $5,000,000 would do much more good at one of our struggling elementary schools. Reading tutors or math tutors or a hundred more teachers for a year.

Get a grip people.
